The single document that has had the most influence on mankind's belief of how the cosmos came into being is the first chapter in the first book of the Bible: Genesis. This book was written in the deserts of the Middle East approximately 3,500 years ago by an exiled Egyptian prince of Hebrew ancestry. The first two verses of Genesis are:
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters."
I would like to humbly suggest the following new version of these verses based on modern scientific facts, and personal revelation:
"In the beginning God designed spirit and matter and willed them into existence. Matter was without form, and void. Darkness was on the face of deep space, and the life giving Spirit of God was hovering in the midst of the water molecules."
The creation of matter was the ultimate stroke of genius. All the dynamics of evolution were coded into matter at the sub-atomic level. God's design unfolds within the limits of matter over time.
Water is the portal through which Life enters into matter and animates living creatures.
